Dr. Garth McLeod offers both urgent and elective general surgery at Noosa Private Hospital or Buderim Private Hospital and Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital. He has a wealth of experience in surgery and emergency medicine. He ia a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons with subspecialty training in obesity and metabolic surgery. Prior to that, he spent 6 years in General Surgery and Urology and five years in Emergency Departments in both Australia and New Zealand.
What general surgery procedures does Dr McLeod offer?
Urgent surgery
General Laparoscopic and Open surgery determined on individual cases for:
- cholecystitis,
- appendicitis,
- urgent hernia problems,
- abscesses,
- bowel obstruction,
- and all other urgent surgical conditions.
Elective surgery
His services also include elective (planned) surgery for diseases of the:
- gallbladder including gallstones,
- hernia surgery both open and laparoscopic for inguinal and abdominal wall herniae,
- skin lesions removal including skin cancer excision requiring grafts and flaps,
- and upper GI endoscopy both diagnostic and therapeutic.
What is the process to book in for surgery?
To book for surgery, you will require a referral from your G.P. or specialist. A referral allows you to claim the Medicare rebate for your consultation. Then simply call Dr McLeod’s team at Tewantin to make an appointment. Our friendly reception staff will walk you through the process of consultation.
